The magician shows a diagonally cut deck of cards. By laying the two halves of the deck out on the table, he demonstrates how completely different the cards are. The cards are turned over, and two spectators are asked to each select a half card from the deck in front of them. The two halves of the cards are pulled closer together, and it is demonstrated how the backs fit together perfectly. As if by magic, when the magician turns the two halves over, the fronts also fit together, forming a complete card.
