The miser's dream

The performer catches a coin out of thin air and drops it into a steel glass. Then, he catches one coin after another out of thin air. The audience sees the coins fall into the glass and also hears the sound of them falling. The performer then throws a considerable number of coins into the audience and pretends to throw them into the glass. But nothing comes out of the glass. All the coins have disappeared.
