Rulers by Père Alex (used)

The magic trick set "Rulers by Père Alex" transforms two standard wooden rulers (scaled in centimeters and inches) into an eye-catching illusion of length with no hidden mechanisms.

When you place both sticks parallel to each other, 15 cm suddenly appear to be the same length as 6 inches. If you swap their positions, 7 inches appear to be 9 cm. The final reveal then uncovers the simple fact: both rulers measure exactly the same value. The effect is based on the classic Jastrow illusion and uses only the offset arrangement of the scales to deliberately manipulate spatial perception.

This item is a used specimen in functional condition. For practitioners, the key advantage is: the trick does not rely on complex components, but on controlled placement. The audience automatically tracks the supposed conversion of the measurement units, while you pace every step yourself through minimal shifting. This makes the set suitable for close-up table rounds, as a compact stage performance, or as a didactic tool for visualizing perceptual errors. The passive design ensures immediate readiness for use and reliable repeatability without any technical dependencies.
