You can't go wrong - no electronics

In front of you are three wooden bases, one of which has a hole in the middle. Show a large, sharp nail and insert it, point up, into the hole in the base. Then cover the bases with paper cups and turn around. A spectator shuffles the cups. When you turn around, use your "magical" instinct to flatten two of the three cups with the palm of your hand. Of course, you won't get hurt, and the sharp nail will be under the third cup.

• The nail is 9 cm (3.5 inches) long and 0.6 cm (0.2 inches) in diameter. The wooden bases are 9 cm (3.5 inches) long on each side and 2 cm (0.8 inches) thick.
