The magician asks the audience if they would like to play a little game of chance. He pulls out a banknote with a very high denomination and says he will gamble it... whoever wins gets the banknote as a prize! He puts the banknote in a shallow, crystal-clear Plexiglas container and seals it with a padlock. He then displays eight small keys and shows that only one of them will open the padlock. The eight keys are thrown into a jar and thoroughly mixed. Now, one by one, the audience takes a key and tries their luck at opening the padlock. Of course, they fail. At the end, the magician (or one of the audience members) tries the very last key that wasn't chosen, and it actually opens the padlock. After the highly exciting performance, the magician can finally relax, take back his money, and receive his well-deserved applause.
