Magic Boat

The performer shows a "rod" made of plastic and places it on the table. He turns it to show that it can spin freely.

Then he rubs it on his sleeve to charge it with static electricity and turns it again. By sheer force of his mind, he can make the rod visibly stop and let it turn in the opposite direction.
