The performer holds a rope, hands the spectator a pair of scissors, and asks them to cut the rope in half. The spectator is unable to open the scissors. They exert all their strength, but cannot separate the blades. The performer takes the scissors and opens them immediately and without further effort. They then hand the scissors to the spectator with the separated blades. But now they cannot cut the rope because they cannot close the scissors. Finally, the performer takes the scissors and cuts the rope.
• The scissors are made of silver-plated brass. They are 22.5 cm long and 8 cm wide.
• You can use this item as a comedy gag when performing "Cut and Restore Rope." This is also a fantastic gag when scissors are needed during a performance.
